Microsoft Azure DevOps Cloud Engineer

As a Microsoft Azure DevOps Cloud Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services leader. You will be responsible for enhancing and managing the Azure platform, focusing on cloud security, scalability, and compliance. This role involves collaborating with various teams to deliver secure, performant, and automated solutions in line with the client’s cloud strategy. You will work on web application firewall (WAF) uplift and support continuous integration and delivery, contributing to the evolution of the Azure platform in a fast-paced and secure environment.

Your main responsibilities: Delivering engineering capabilities to enhance the Azure WAF (Web Application Firewall)

• Building and managing the Client’s Azure platform for application deployments
• Engineering solutions on Azure using Infrastructure-as-Code techniques (e.g., Terraform)
• Executing the functional lifecycle (design, document, develop, maintain) of code libraries
• Integrating, configuring, deploying, and managing common cloud services (IAM, networking, OS)
• Managing Azure connectivity and networking (ExpressRoute, DNS, IP allocation, Azure Firewall)
• Ensuring compliance with operational risk standards (Network, Firewall, OS, Monitoring, Resiliency)
• Building and supporting continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and testing activities
• Troubleshooting and supporting Azure tenant/infrastructure on a daily basis
• Updating operational documentation and gathering feedback between Cyber Security and Azure teams

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience in Azure WAF enablement engineering
• Expertise in cloud network security concepts and engineering
• Experience with deploying IaaS and PaaS services in Azure
• Proficient understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps or GitHub
• Understanding of security and compliance frameworks, including Microsoft Sentinel or Defender
• Expertise in ARM, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible
• Demonstrable experience in working with high-availability web infrastructure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in managing solutions that meet security standards and compliance frameworks

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Multi-cloud experience (Azure + GCP/AWS)
• Programming experience in PowerShell, Python, or object-oriented languages
• Linux administration and scripting experience, preferably Red Hat
• Industry-recognized cloud certifications (e.g., Azure)
• Experience in highly regulated industries like Financial Services
