Warsaw-based opportunity with hybrid work model. (3 days in the office, 2 days remote per week.)
As a Network Monitoring Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading institution in Tech Risk Management.
You will contribute to a pioneering 6-month pilot project involving the installation and operation of Illumio, a sophisticated network monitoring and microsegmentation tool in the company's data center. This role involves evaluating Illumio for full deployment, working closely with a new, AI-driven security team eager to innovate and improve network resilience.
Your main responsibilities:
- Install and operate the Illumio server on RedHat Linux within the data center.
- Deploy and test Illumio agents across approximately 100 Linux and Windows hosts.
- Monitor network connectivity, test product features such as traffic extraction and microsegmentation capabilities.
- Integrate Illumio with existing security solutions such as CrowdStrike and Windows EDR systems.
- Develop scripts using Shell and PowerShell for diagnostics and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to learn the product and optimize deployment processes.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues utilizing foundational protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, and ARP.
- Support Linux systems administration and ensure seamless functioning of network filters and firewalls.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Around 5 years of experience in infrastructure or systems administration, ideally in a security-focused environment.
- Strong knowledge of Linux server management (RedHat preferred).
- Proficiency with TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, IP packet filtering (iptables, firewalls).
- Hands-on experience with Windows software installation.
- Scripting skills in Shell and PowerShell.
- Experience with REST API integration.
- Effective communication skills in English (fluent) and Polish (good command).
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
- Basic scripting languages such as Python or Java.
- Experience with security tools like CrowdStrike or other EDR solutions.
- Cisco networking certifications (e.g., CCNA).
- Familiarity with AI-driven security tools and network microsegmentation.
Language Required for the role:
Fluent English and good command of Polish.
