As a RPG Programmer / Analyst-Programmer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution. The client is focused on maintaining and improving their banking and payments systems, with a particular emphasis on the Spanish banking context. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing RPG programs and DB2 databases, working with the IBM I / iSeries system, and collaborating within an Agile environment. This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to contribute to important technical developments within a global organization.
Your main responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining RPG programs (RPG II, RPG III, RPG IV, SQLRPG, Full free RPG)
- Designing and implementing DB2 tables, views, and indexes
- Managing job definitions, job queues, and output queues on the IBM I / iSeries system
- Ensuring object security and managing the Integrated File System (IFS)
- Working with XML and JSON data formats for integration
- Utilizing Change Management Systems or Version Control based on IBM I and/or RDi
- Collaborating in an Agile environment to deliver timely solutions
- Analyzing and solving complex technical issues
- Applying knowledge of banking and payments systems, particularly within the Spanish banking context
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience as a Senior RPG Programmer / Analyst-Programmer
- Strong technical skills in RPG programming (RPG II, RPG III, RPG IV, SQLRPG, Full free RPG)
- In-depth knowledge of the IBM I / iSeries system and its job management
- Proficiency in DB2, including creating tables, views, and indexes
- Experience with XML and JSON data formats
- Familiarity with Change Management Systems or Version Control based on IBM I and/or RDi
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, Agile environment
- Fluent English
- Knowledge of banking and payments systems, especially within the Spanish banking system
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Spanish language skills (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of the Spanish banking system
