Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office)
As a SAN Monitoring SME, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution undertaking a large-scale infrastructure optimization initiative to standardize and monitor storage across its worldwide operations. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing observability solutions for SAN and block storage systems, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and performance across various core platforms. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic oversight, contributing to both operational excellence and long-term infrastructure roadmaps in a highly regulated, enterprise-scale environment.
Your main responsibilities: Designing and implementing observability solutions across SAN and block storage platforms
- Integrating monitoring tools with core SAN infrastructure APIs
- Reviewing and improving the team’s operational processes and deliverables
- Collaborating with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal service value
- Leading initiatives to align storage operations with strategic infrastructure goals
- Managing BAU tasks including provisioning, reclaim, and performance optimization
- Maintaining technical documentation, service catalogs, and IT standards
- Performing patching, system maintenance, incident resolution, and change management
- Ensuring best practices across the global storage estate
- Developing and maintaining technology and process roadmaps for the storage domain
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Deep understanding of SAN infrastructure, architecture, and functional requirements
- Hands-on experience with block storage platforms such as EMC, Pure, Cisco, and Brocade
- Strong understanding of SAN APIs and platform integrations
- Proficiency in SAN provisioning tasks like SRDF, zoning, and TimeFinder
- Expertise in troubleshooting SAN-related issues and fiber channel technologies
- Familiarity with system maintenance, patching, incident handling, and change processes
- Good scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Puppet
- Experience documenting IT standards and creating service catalog items
- Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
- Clear understanding of Windows/Linux environments in relation to storage
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Knowledge of VMware infrastructure and datastore provisioning
- Exposure to HPE or additional Pure storage solutions
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and data protection in enterprise storage
- Familiarity with automation of provisioning and performance monitoring
- Experience leading teams or initiatives in large-scale infrastructure environments
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders
