As a Senior Development Specialist, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services, driving the transformation of their core banking landscape. This initiative involves rebuilding core banking applications to ensure exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. Embedded within a dedicated team, you will deliver end-to-end solutions while embracing the principle of owning what you build, from development to ongoing support. Your role will play a key part in modernizing systems and enabling seamless operations in a dynamic and agile environment.

Your main responsibilities: Developing and maintaining applications using RPG400/IV, RPG Free, CL, SQL, and ILE

• Designing and implementing end-to-end solutions in the banking domain
• Collaborating with teams to expose and consume web services, JSON, and REST APIs
• Utilizing DevOps tools and techniques, including Jenkins, Sonar, and CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshooting and resolving critical issues promptly and efficiently
• Participating in agile ceremonies and contributing to an agile development environment
• Supporting change management processes and tools to ensure seamless transitions
• Documenting and sharing technical designs and solutions with the team
• Reviewing peer code and implementing feedback for continuous improvement
• Monitoring and supporting production systems to maintain reliability

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with RPG (ILE/FREE) and related technologies
• Recent expertise in RPG using Procedures, Service Programs, and Functions
• Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and CI/CD practices
• Experience working in agile development environments with cross-functional teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex systems
• Advanced communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with exposing and consuming web services such as REST APIs
• Capability to support and deploy production-ready systems
• Proficiency with tools like Jenkins, Sonar, and RDI for development workflows
• A collaborative and flexible mindset in high-pressure situations

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in the banking or financial services domain
• Familiarity with JSON and REST API integrations
• Exposure to application design and development in BFSI
• Background in culturally diverse and global team environments
• Skills in presenting technical solutions to stakeholders
