Senior Java Developer

Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office)

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in the financial services sector. The client is focused on delivering cutting-edge technology solutions for the Foreign Exchange (FX) trading market. You will join a team responsible for building an in-house platform to support FX Trading functions, replacing a vendor platform. With a focus on continuous delivery, you will have the opportunity to work with modern technologies and make significant contributions to the development and deployment of production-ready solutions in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Your main responsibilities: Developing and delivering efficient and elegant Java code

• Building and maintaining a micro-service based architecture
• Automating testing and deployment of frequent, small releases
• Communicating with product owners and business stakeholders to gather requirements
• Ensuring production availability of your services and handling issues proactively
• Collaborating within an agile team to deliver high-quality software
• Implementing DevOps practices for smooth integration and deployment
• Contributing to the design and development of FX business solutions
• Monitoring production systems to maintain stability and performance
• Continuously improving code quality and system resilience

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience with Java 17+ (including concurrency, data structures, low latency)
• Proven experience working in an agile development environment
• Familiarity with TDD, continuous integration, jUnit, and continuous deployment
• Experience with RESTful services and messaging technologies
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams
• A passion for technology and continuous learning
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of FX business and financial markets
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems
• Involvement in open-source projects or developer communities
• Familiarity with low-latency system design
• Experience with monitoring tools for production environments
