As a Senior Software Engineer (Data Platforms) you will be working for our client, a leading Swiss financial market infrastructure provider that delivers stock exchange, financial information, and payment services, while also developing a pioneering digital stock exchange. You will join their Data Science Platform & Reporting team in the central IT department, focusing on designing, developing, and operating robust cloud-based platform services. Your mission will be to build scalable tools, APIs, and automated systems that empower data scientists and analysts, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization.

Your main responsibilities: Design, build, and operate scalable software services and APIs for the central data platform

• Own the full DevOps lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring
• Contribute to the architecture and long-term evolution of the core data platform
• Develop production-grade data pipelines (ETL/ELT) integrating diverse data sources
• Migrate selected on-premise workloads to cloud infrastructure (Azure)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver analytics and reporting solutions aligned with business goals
• Ensure adherence to best practices, design patterns, and high code quality standards
• Implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead
• Support and mentor team members in technical best practices and platform usage

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and operating scalable software services
• Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL, and Bash scripting
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and public cloud platforms, preferably Azure
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and modern data engineering practices
• Strong DevOps skills, including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code
• Ability to design solutions using proven architectural patterns
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and maintaining production systems
• Excellent communication skills in English and a collaborative mindset
