Join us as a Software Engineer (Java/Kafka)
Warsaw-based opportunity with 2 days of remote work per week
As a Software Engineer (Java/Kafka) you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services and the second-largest investment bank in the world. You will join a high-impact engineering team focused on developing cutting-edge systems for securities settlements. This project plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of global post-trade transactions. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment using modern technologies like Java, Kafka, and Kubernetes to deliver scalable and reliable solutions for mission-critical financial operations.
Your main responsibilities: Design and develop scalable software for global securities settlement
- Maintain and optimize existing backend systems using Java and Kafka
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and associated tools
- Implement and monitor observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Work with containerized services deployed via Kubernetes and Argo CD
- Write infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Ensure system reliability and performance under heavy transaction loads
- Follow agile development processes and participate in sprint ceremonies
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience (2-3 years) in software development with Java
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture and Kafka
- Solid understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience working with monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment
