Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As a Splunk Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution driving innovation and reliability in their digital platforms. You will contribute to enhancing monitoring solutions for mission-critical applications, ensuring optimal performance and availability across diverse environments. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define observability standards and deliver actionable insights, playing a key part in maintaining the client’s high standards for system stability and user experience.

Your main responsibilities: Creating and supporting monitoring dashboards using Splunk

  • Implementing observability solutions covering server, network, and application performance
  • Evangelizing monitoring best practices and observability standards across departments
  • Analyzing performance metrics and KPIs to identify bottlenecks and improve systems
  • Collaborating with application owners, architects, and testers to troubleshoot performance issues
  • Developing technical documentation, queries, reports, and presentations
  • Monitoring application health and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Supporting mission-critical applications with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools
  • Communicating effectively with business and technology teams for smooth collaboration
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and best practices in monitoring and observability

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • More than 2 years’ experience defining and supporting monitoring dashboards with Splunk
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring methodologies for applications, servers, and networks
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) in live deployments
  • Ability to analyze and interpret application performance metrics and KPIs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboratio
  • Technical writing experience including reports, queries, and presentations
  • Experience in troubleshooting application performance issues using observability tools
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with statistical calculations and data visualization techniques
  • Proven ability to work across departments influencing and evangelizing observability standards

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of REST API development for monitoring extensions
  • Application development experience in Java at an enterprise level
  • Experience with architectures involving Java app servers, Golang, Kubernetes, OpenShift
  • Understanding of Cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts related to monitoring and analytics
