As a VP Financial Engineering, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution, contributing to the Strategic Analytics unit within Global Risk Analytics (GRA). Your primary focus will be on programming tasks, contributing to the development of analytic platforms that will significantly impact risk analysis and measurement at the organization.

Your main responsibilities:

• Contribute to prototyping teams, engaging in the construction and testing of analytic platforms
• Alternate between rapid prototyping and polished software platform development
• Provide innovative solutions for risk measurement and model development processes
• Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and modellers across various project streams
• Participating in decision-making processes
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure timely project delivery

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• An MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
• 9 years of demonstrated experience in application development
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#, Python)
• Experience with mathematical or engineering programming environments (e.g., MATLAB)
• Strong knowledge of testing principles and design patterns

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in Agile development and continuous integration practices
• Familiarity with algorithms for large dataset processing (e.g., Map/Reduce)
• Knowledge of machine learning and pattern recognition techniques
• Experience with non-traditional database architectures (e.g., NoSQL, graph-theoretic structures)
