As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, on their advanced application and platform development projects. You will take ownership of the entire code build and all technical aspects, ensuring the implementation meets high standards. This role involves designing, building, and releasing software changes using modern CI/CD pipelines. You will also collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and other technical teams to create robust and scalable solutions.

Your main responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of the entire code build and technical aspects
• Preparing low-level designs based on functional specifications
• Building skeleton projects for junior developers to scale
• Implementing given specifications as per client standards
• Creating and managing small or technical tickets
• Releasing changes to production using CI/CD Jenkins pipeline
• Writing JUnit and automated test cases
• Interacting with business analysts and product owners
• Coordinating with other application technical teams

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 6+ years of development experience, preferably with banking transaction data
• Proficiency in Java 1.8+, Apache Spark 2.3 or 3.X
• Prior experience with ETL applications handling large data volumes
• Strong knowledge of Spark or equivalent technology
• Acute sense of data frame objects design and memory allocation techniques
• Experience in system design
• Proficiency in RDBMS, SQL, Unix scripting, and ETL
• Deep understanding of database or file system write operations
• Experience with applications exposing multiple interfaces
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API-driven systems
• Ability to design systems considering UI and other external interfaces
• Good knowledge of Agile engineering practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
• Familiarity with Big Data concepts, DevOps principles, and container technology
• Experience with Spring Boot (4+), reactive Spring Boot
• Familiarity with XML, XSLT, JUnit 5 or equivalent
• Knowledge of BitBucket/GitHub, Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with cloud implementation, preferably GCP or equivalent
• Understanding of cluster deployment for Spark applications
