As a Mid-Level UI Designer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, contributing to the development of the HSBC Productivity Suite application. Your expertise will craft user-centered digital experiences, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and consistency across the platform. Your main responsibilities:
- Create high-quality UI designs from requirements and early UX direction, including layouts, components, states, and responsive behaviour.
- Produce wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to support agile development.
- Apply best practices, libraries, and frameworks to ensure consistent UI across the product.
- Maintain attention to detail in typography, spacing, colour, iconography, and interaction states.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation and resolve UI issues during build and testing.
- Contribute to and leverage design systems and component libraries to improve consistency and delivery speed.
- Support accessibility and inclusive design standards, ensuring UI meets relevant requirements.
- Work closely with product owners, developers, and users to deliver UI solutions aligned with business objectives, using JIRA and Kanban boards.
- Collaborate with the UI Lead and design team to maintain UI and UX consistency across all projects.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- 3+ years of experience in UI design for digital products, including web applications.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong, high-fidelity UI design craft with component-based approaches.
- Experience working with design systems and reusable components.
- Knowledge of usability and accessibility principles influencing UI decisions.
- Strong visual design skills (layout, typography, colour, hierarchy) and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to explain design decisions and collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work efficiently at pace, and iterate based on feedback.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented attitude.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Interest in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI and their impact on product experiences.
Language Required for the role:
- Communicative English.
