Application Support Specialist

As an Application Support Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial services provider. Your role will involve supporting their WPB Trading system within a DevOps framework. This dynamic project requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to manage system queries, ensure system integration, and maintain technical documentation. Your contributions will be crucial in identifying and resolving technical issues, preparing maintenance plans, and providing comprehensive support to business users.

Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide support on WPB Trading system
• Assisting with systems integrations
• Managing tickets with system queries and ensuring resolutions
• Identifying and resolving technical issues
• Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures
• Preparing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the system
• Communicating with business users to resolve production incidents and queries
• Providing Application incident on-call support during off business hours
• Providing Weekend/Public Holiday Application Support as needed

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• A university degree in computer science or a related discipline
• Knowledge or working experience in Application Support or Development, preferably in an enterprise or global environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent teamwork abilities with minimal supervision
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of direct communication with Business Users and onshore partners
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• Experience with Windows/Linux/DB2/Oracle/MQ/IBM WebSphere
• Hands-on experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java, Spring, J2EE, MVC, and DB2/PostgreSQL technologies
• Ability to work under pressure with initiative, enthusiasm, and rapid learning capability
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Good financial knowledge and business sense
• Knowledge or experience in AWS Cloud technologies adoption
