As a BigData Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution focusing on risk management solutions. Traded Risk IT delivers IT solutions to support risk management across the bank’s regions and business lines. Joining the market risk team, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing modern OLAP solutions to enhance traded risk management globally. This involves working on the SAGE platform, a strategic initiative aimed at delivering a comprehensive aggregation platform for Risk managers in a hybrid cloud environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Analyse, design, develop, test, and deploy IT systems to achieve business goals
• Design and implement a data processing and calculation service integrated with Risk Analytics
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and IT teams for requirement analysis and solution design
• Work closely with the Risk Analytics team on analytics library design and integration
• Adopt DevOps and Agile principles, ensuring test-driven development and close collaboration with global team members
• Support platform database management including incident resolution, monitoring, and problem management
• Investigate and provide professional insight for delivering technology solutions and overcoming blockers
• Maintain IT systems in production and ensure delivery of functional and non-functional quality

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Hands-on experience in big data system solution design and development, including Agile methodology
• Experience in developing distributed applications, preferably in a Spark environment
• Hands-on experience in API development, building Web service, Microservice, and API gateway
• Solid knowledge of software testing and experience with testing automation tools such as Junit, Cucumber, Karate, Rest Assured, Pact, etc.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Ansible
• Proficiency in Java 11+, Groovy, Python 3.7+, Spark with Scala/Java/Python
• Proficiency in Cloud Service Providers: GCP/AWS
• Knowledge of Spring framework: Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, Spring Cloud Gateway, Eureka, Apache Airflow
• Familiar with: Apache Airflow, Unix/Linux, Git, Maven, and PostgreSQL

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of Financial Risk management in the banking or the financial industry
• Knowledge specific to the Traded Risk domain
• Experience in UI or BI development and streaming solution or distributed computation solution build
• MDX, XMLA, Flink, Redis
• Scrum master/ PMP/FRM/CRA certified
• Experience in RPC development (gRPC)
• Experience in OLAP solution development (Clickhouse, Druid, Pinot)
• Knowledge of data Lakehouse development (Dremio, Trino etc. Table format Iceberg, Delta or Hudi)
• Experience in Apache Beam, Apache Flink, Apache Samza, Hazelcast, Dataflow, etc.
