Lead Fullstack Engineer

As a Lead Fullstack Engineer, you will be working for our client, a prominent financial institution, on a critical project aimed at modernizing one of the core banking systems and its associated applications across the EMEA region. This project focuses on developing and supporting backend payment services that process SEPA payments, SWIFT messages, and internal accounting entries. Additionally, you will be building frontend services used internally across the region.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing, maintaining, and supporting backend services using Java with Spring Boot
• Building and managing frontend services utilized across the EMEA region
• Designing and implementing microservices and APIs to enhance system integration
• Reducing cost and complexity by transitioning from point-to-point interfacing to a modern integration layer
• Collaborating with Business Analysts and Project Managers to translate business requirements into development tasks
• Utilizing DevOps practices to manage the payment services portfolio on cloud and on-premises platforms
• Implementing automated testing frameworks to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Maintaining and supporting service-related interfaces through orchestration layers
• Managing code releases using tools like Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, RTC, G3, Nexus
• Following Agile and DevOps methodologies to ensure efficient and effective project delivery (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint etc.)

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience with Java 8+, with a preference for Java 17+
• Proficiency in Spring/Spring Boot frameworks
• Solid understanding of database technologies and SQL, with a preference for Oracle
• Expertise in developing RESTful microservices and APIs
• Experience working in a DevOps delivery team
• Proficiency in frontend technologies, especially JavaScript and React
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based and on-premises service management
• Experience with Agile and DevOps tools like Jira and Confluence
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Business Analysts and Product Managers
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead development teams effectively

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with MuleSoft, Kafka, or other integration technologies
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools
• Understanding of financial services, particularly payments processing
