PHP Database Engineer

As a PHP Database Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution, within the CTO Database Tooling & Inventory POD. This team operates the global database inventory tool, crucial for ensuring comprehensive and accurate database listings, pivotal for various controls within the institution.

Your main responsibilities:

• Uplifting the existing Database Inventory tool to ensure compliance/regulatory adherence
• Gaining an understanding of the current application design and implementing automation for common or complex activities
• Delivering solutions based on customer requirements
• Designing and building monitoring reports and dashboards for service observability
• Supporting users with best practices and technical queries
• Contributing to team support and knowledge sharing
• Undertaking administrative tasks related to workload management and change management processes

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 4 years of experience on similar position
• Experience with PHP (Must), Git, and GitHub
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible and Jenkins
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset and a high sense of ownership
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with stakeholders and senior management

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with application design simplification and API consumption
• Some understanding of database technologies like MSSQL
• Willingness to work occasionally in UK business hours (10-18 PL Time)
