As a Senior Payments Production Support Engineer, you will be working for our client, an international leader in financial services technology. You will contribute to maintaining and optimizing mission-critical payment systems, ensuring high availability and reliable performance across diverse technological landscapes. Your main responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive day-to-day production support, including incident resolution and post-incident problem management.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve live system issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Install and validate new software releases from vendors, ensuring seamless integration.
- Support the development and deployment of in-house solutions via scripting (Shell, Java, Bash, Python).
- Collaborate closely with global stakeholders during testing, validation, and deployment efforts.
- Review, re-engineer, and enhance processes using new technologies for improved performance.
- Design and implement service improvements, capability upgrades, and process optimizations.
- Develop and utilize tools for architecture analysis and performance monitoring (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk).
- Conduct data analysis to identify anomalies, support root cause analysis, and improve system stability.
- Support and sometimes lead activities aligned with team objectives in an Agile/DevOps environment.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production support within financial or payment systems.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with at least 5 years’ hands-on experience.
- Extensive Linux administration knowledge, including shell scripting (Bash, Python, Java).
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Oracle database architecture.
- Experience with system monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
- Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills under pressure.
- Experience working in high-frequency change environments with CI/CD pipelines.
- Well-developed communication skills in English (fluent), with ability to collaborate globally.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Prior experience in Payment systems.
- Knowledge of Python and Java development.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
