Become a key member of a Metrics & Controls Team for one of the world’s largest banks!

Krakow-based opportunity with the possibility to work fully remotely!

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a Metrics & Controls Team in the Markets and Securities Services department (MSS IT). You will provide tailored financial solutions to major government, corporate, and institutional clients worldwide. You will interface with support teams across all asset classes engaged with primary development, and engineering responsibilities along with the need to support our systems, and customers in one of the world’s largest banking, and financial services organizations.

Your main responsibilities:

• Working on development, scripting, and configuration to enhance, improve and add to the application suite
• Coding is in a combination of Python; C# (.Net); React; Java; Perl; Unix Shell script; Powershell; and Oracle PL/SQL
• Working with releases through automated CI/CD pipelines, learning to maintain, and update this configuration as required
• Working dependably, and efficiently with the ability to balance support (business as usual) activity against the needs of development, and project work – growing your technology skill set

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• 3+ years of experience as a software developer
• Knowledge of Web technology and/or API development, in .Net (C#), Python, or Java ecosystem
• Experience working with 1 or more industry-standard RDBMS (Oracle / PostgreSQL / Sybase / MS SQL Server)
• Exposure to O/S and/or application services scripting in any Unix/Linux shell, Powershell, Javascript, Perl, Python
• A willingness to work in different technology stacks with the ability to switch between them when required
• A willingness to provide occasional weekend or after-hours support or cover as needs require
• Diverse IT background with proven development experience (in study and/or previous roles) and an active interest in technology and programming

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Exposure and experience with Front-end web UI technologies or frameworks (React, Angular, etc)
• A good understanding of *Nix and/or Windows operating systems (preferably both)
• An understanding of data markup and transport languages and protocols (XML, JSON, REST, etc)
• Experience and/or understanding of regular expressions
• Exposure to IT Security and Application Development best practices would be a distinct advantage
• Experience with IT Development and collaboration tools (Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, etc)
• Concrete experience in MVC and REST API frameworks for orchestrating web applications with browser-based clients and other systems
