As a Specialist Engineer, you will be working for our client, an international financial services organization undergoing a major infrastructure modernization project. This project aims to replace core banking systems and external applications with new software solutions. Your role will involve developing, maintaining, and supporting UI payment-related services and interfaces that process SEPA payments, SWIFT messages, and internal accounting entries. You will be a part of the Regional EMEA IT Payments team, focusing on building front-end services used internally across the European region.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing, maintaining, and supporting services using Java with Spring Boot
• Managing the payment services portfolio hosted on cloud and on-premises environments
• Developing, maintaining, and supporting microservices providing UX functionality for payment processing
• Using Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, RTC, G3, and Nexus for artifact management and code release mechanisms
• Following Agile & DevOps methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
• Working with Business Analysts and Project/Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into development sprints

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience with React 18, Typescript 5, and Bootstrap 5
• Previous experience with legacy UX technologies like JSP
• Proficiency in Java 8+ (Java 17+ preferred)
• Working understanding of ReSTful microservices and APIs
• Knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot
• Experience with database technologies and SQL
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Experience in Agile and DevOps environments
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-skilled team

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in developing and maintaining microservices
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment practices
• Background in financial services and payment systems
• Experience with observability tools and interactive tools for managing payment flows
