As a Specialist Engineering (SRE), you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, on a transformative project aimed at enhancing the infrastructure capabilities within their Open Banking (OB) cloud solutions. This project focuses on creating automated, resilient, and self-serving infrastructure using AWS cloud technologies. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, configuring security controls, and ensuring the monitoring and alerting frameworks are robust. Your expertise will play a critical role in reducing operational toil through automation and ensuring the platform’s reliability and efficiency.
Your main responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform for consistent platform deployment
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure to facilitate platform rollout across various markets
- Configuring and managing AWS cloud infrastructure, including services like EC2, S3, and RDS
- Ensuring all cloud services comply with internal security and control standards
- Designing and maintaining monitoring frameworks to ensure platform health and quick issue detection
- Collaborating with IT system analysts, engineering teams, and SRE engineers to translate requirements into automated solutions
- Implementing and tuning logging and monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, and CloudWatch
- Managing and administering Linux, Nginx, and Squid within the platform
- Writing and maintaining automation scripts using Python, Node.js, or Shell scripting
- Ensuring high availability and load balancing of applications through effective network and infrastructure design
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong AWS DevOps skills, including experience with services like VPC, IAM, ELB, and Lambda
- Expertise in Terraform for AWS environment stack building
- Proficiency in Jenkins automation for CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Linux administration and scripting in Python or Node.js
- Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools like Splunk and CloudWatch
- Strong understanding of network concepts, including subnets, firewalls, and load balancing
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience with ALM tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Confluence
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated attitude
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with Nginx and Squid administration
- Knowledge of IAAS, PAAS, and FAAS concepts
- Familiarity with application clustering and high availability strategies
