Test Automation Engineer

As an Test Automation Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, on the Client’s Digital Decisioning Programme. You’ll be responsible for building automation test engineering solutions operating on system and application components across various platforms, including on-premise and multiple cloud platforms like GCP and AWS. Your primary tasks involve automating test processes, modifying tests, executing them, and presenting analyses for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities:

• Develop automated tests at every level: Unit, Integration, System, UAT, and SIT
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams as an SDET
• Create clear test documentation from user stories
• Write test code in Java and related technologies
• Script and code to support test framework and automation
• Utilize Redhat Linux and various testing frameworks
• Automate tests for various testing activities (Feature, Regression, System, Integration, Performance and Security etc.)
• Configure visualization tools to display real-time test results (e.g. AppDynamics, Kibana)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with peers and teams
• Drive resolution for high customer impact issues

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Proven experience in software testing and programming
• Experience with Selenium-based UI testing
• Familiarity with API testing frameworks like Restassured
• Knowledge of Cucumber/Gherkin for BDD
• Java SpringBoot microservices development and testing experience
• Strong proficiency in Java and related technologies
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work with multiple testing frameworks
• Experience with cloud services, preferably GCP, AWS acceptable
• Knowledge of testing automation infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to changing development phases
• Experience presenting data to cross-functional team
• Java SpringBoot microservices development and testing experience
• Strong knowledge of agile delivery processes combined with an ability to work cross-functionally with teams using waterfall delivery processes

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Understanding of Tosca or similar automation tools
